Trump Administration Rescinds Draconian Measures Targeting F-1 Students
The Trump Administration has reached a deal with U.S. Universities to extend
the ability of international students with F-1 visas to take fully online
course loads while retaining their visa status. This deal will continue
the policies that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had implemented
in March 2020 that enabled international students to remain in the U.S.
while pursuing their studies, even when colleges closed down due to Covid-19
restrictions. It is also expected that the Department of Homeland Security
will no longer turn away international students with F-1 students at U.S.
border posts.
